This morning I was very nostalgic for the brony music back from 2010 to 2013. But now that I'm writing this it's not just the musicians or the music I used to listen to at the height of my brony phase. I'm nostalgic for the artists, animators, fanfic writers, voice actors, narrators and all other creatives as well. It's sad to see creatives stop creating, whatever reason may be. Some creators felt the need to abandon their previous audience completely (though I understand the need to leave if your audience becomes toxic). Some have even chosen to completely erase their old projects which is what compelled me to write this journal. I'm not arguing that they should be loyal to any fandom, but I will ask them not to leave their old fans behind.

All creatives know that five to ten years from now they can look back and recognize their need for improvement in their older work. Creatives are always surprised that at some point or another people had enjoyed their old content. But regardless of how the artist views their older work it had inspired someone. As a fellow creative it disheartens me to see artists take away what may have inspired someone else. It may have been a phase. It may have been your edgy teenage years. It may have been weeb to high heavens. But mabey that's what made it really speak to that one person, and it would be indifferent to take it away from them.

I want to be very clear in saying that I am not advocating for fandoms in any way. This is instead for all creatives out there on the internet. If you share it with others, leave it there. For personal growth, and to continue to inspire others.
As some of you know music a huge inspiration for my work, if not the majority. But fanart makes up almost the entirety of my work. Little else inspires me more than the work other artists have put into their creations. Pieces like The End of Spring and Luna's Return Ft. MetaJoker were inspired by brony music. And my pieces This wall needs a mural and Existing were inspired by other works from the brony fandom. Regardless of how I feel about these pieces now or thirty years from now, they helped me grow as an artist, and I hope they help others as well.
